TE Electrolysis FAQ
Q. How Does the TE Electrolysis System work?
A. With the TE System, a probe is used along with a specially-formulated, ionized gel to transmit galvanic current into the hair follicle. When the current comes in contact with the water and salt that is naturally found in the hair follicle, a chemical reaction takes place. The chemical reaction creates sodium hydroxide. Just like in traditional needle electrolysis, the sodium hydroxide damages the germinative cells in the follicle, thus achieving permanent hair removal.
Q. What Does the Treatment Feel Like?
A.You could experience a tingling sensation and sometimes a slight metallic taste, but no pain of the needle. You may also feel a slight discomfort when the hairs are removed after a treatment. (Requires multiple visits to reach permanency)
Q. How Often Do I Need Treatment?
A. For the first 9 to 12 weeks of your treatment, you will need to be treated every week to 10 days. Remember, it takes 6 to 12 weeks for hair to grow from the base of the follicle to the surface of the skin. So, after you have begun your treatments and all of the hair has been removed from an area, the hair that you see for up to the next 12 weeks has not been treated. Also, the hair follicle may only remain in the growing stage for 2 weeks after the hair surfaces.
Q. How Do I Maximize the Effectiveness of My Treatment?
A. There are some simple things that you can do to maximize the effectiveness of your treatment.
- Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water per day.
- Drink high-mineral-content sports drinks such as Gatoradeâ„¢ the day before your treatment.
- Do not drink alcohol the day prior to a treatment.
- Do not smoke prior to the treatment
